It is all fun to look at homes outside of our budget when it is in the comfort of our home but it is a big mistake to actually preview them in person. Not only is it a waste of everyone’s time but it will also frustrate you in the end. 
2. Drive around alone and call the listing agents directly. Instead, find a local, knowledgeable REALTOR® you like and trust the day you decide to purchase a home. Your real estate professional is more than able to present you with a list of homes that fit your criteria.
3. Offer considerably lower than the list price. Your real estate professional would be able to pull up the most recent sales as well as active listings to see the fair market value of the home. Some sellers will not even come back with a counteroffer.
4. Be realistic when it comes to resale homes. Unlike a custom-built home, resale homes may not have everything on your wishlist. Some things are just cosmetic and can be easily changed.
