The Forest. The Trees. . .

The Forest. The Trees.

And So Much More.

I was thinking about the forest and the trees recently.  An old thought came to mind.  Likely you have heard it and maybe used it as well.   It’s the one where someone can’t see the forest for the trees.

After thinking about that for a bit more than a moment, I also wondered if the devil was really in the details. Why?  Yes, I wondered why I was thinking about that too.

And then I slapped myself(figuratively rather than literally but there is still time to add that action to my repertoire).

When one thinks of California, they may not immediately think of forests or even the abundance of trees or numerous forests, parks or natural resources.

Afterall, many other images may come to mind.  The mere mention of the “Golden State” beckons all sorts of feelings and descriptions but as a native, my acquaintance with this place has allowed me to see beyond what many assume yet I continue to see many things that are suddenly new even though they have been in existence for a very long time.

I am sure that’s also true for you - regardless of where one lives or who one may be.  It’s not just one thing - or one thought process or one ideology.   I am grateful for the forest, the trees and so much more.

Nina Hollander - throughout the state whether it be in the North, Central or South - there's a lot of diversity.

Kathy Streib - people's ideas based on generalizations run the gamut.

Jeffrey DiMuria 321.223.6253 Waves Realty - I have "discovered" many different things in each state and country I have visited.  Each community as well.

Hannah Williams - quotes can definitely have multiple interpretations.  Sometimes even for myself - depending on the time, situation and circumstance.  And then we bring in others and that perspective continues to expand.

Morning Michael.

Interesting I used that quote just a week or two ago.  It still rings true.

Michael, we don't have many trees here either, too dry.  BUT know there are transactions your think of this statement.

Dorie Dillard Austin TX - seems like more than a fair trade and I am sure your granddaughter enjoyed her San Diego experience.  While I did live there for about two years - that was long ago - it is a nice place - traffic was much less in those days but the variety of scenery remains magnificent.  Along with so many other things to see and do.

James Dray - it's a saying that comes to mind often.

Brian England - many of my antics crack me up.

Roy Kelley - I hope your Saturday is a good one.

Joan Cox  - there are many examples that can come to mind when thinking of the forest, the trees and real estate.

What a beautiful post, Michael. Having lived in NC all of my adult life, I am familiar with every nook & cranny in my area but, can certainly appreciate anything new or different here - and do.

It's something that tells us we are both attentive and proud of where we live.

Gorgeous picture you used too!

Debe Maxwell, CRS - while I am a native, I lived in Washington DC for a few years in the mid-1980s and I think that gave me some added perspective which I brought back to California and "used" in many ways.

As for the photo, my photography skills are non-existent so I am fortunate to subscribe to canstockphoto.com where this image was purchased(with credit given in the post).

I think travel (which, like everyone right now, I miss terribly) also helps us appreciate our home towns/states.

The photo is perfect for your post!

Michael, forest and trees do create possible wildfires, which you and I both have to deal with, but they sure add to landscaping!   A different twist on your topic.
