A few years ago I found a beautiful picture of a dragonfly made of painted glass. It's a sculpture really.
Somebody else was throwing it away.
I couldn't believe it, it was a beautiful work of art and it spoke to my heart.
Life had been separating me from a lot of people I loved, some had been causing a lot of chaos in my life.
I was in my own personal cocoon.
This picture was exactly what I needed to inspire me, to remind me, that even though my world was falling apart, it really was creating something more amazing than I could imagine.
Every day I looked at that picture and I knew I was closer to "getting my wings".
Breaking the cocoon is a process. And this beautiful picture was a big part of assisting me in trusting the process.
Our homes are a reflection of who we are and when we go through tough times, our homes can be a source of comfort, solace, and yes, growth.
Being surrounded by the things that inspire you, that encourage you, can help you through the process.
And still years later, I am still getting encouragement from this picture, as every day my wings get stronger.
It's almost Valentine's day.
