Your Business Will Survive..... Take a Break!!

Real Estate Broker/Owner with Sellstate Advantage Realty

Since January it has been like old times for Realtors in Cape Coral and the rest of Southwest Florida! Buyers have been taking advantage of the low prices and we have been working from dawn to dusk to keep up! This has been a welcome return after a long 26 months or so without anyone to talk to! However, we need to remember that we do need to recharge our batteries from time to time! Time off is important and we all need it!

After doing my monthly Agent Support Sessions in Cape Coral, Jacksonville, Atlantic City and Watchung, NJ this passed week, I am ready for some time for myself! I am in NY visiting my children and grandchildren and my son will be getting married on Friday evening! It will be a great week and I have been looking forward to it for some time now!

I am like everyone else in our business and I worry about what I may miss while I am gone! But I have learned over the years that stepping away for a short time will not hurt my business, in fact when I do get back I am more productive and ready to go! Time off is important and very necessary for everyone in our line of work!

Plan time off for yourself! If you do not plan it, you will not take it! Something always comes up that we feel is more important! Taking a vacation could be just what you need to restart your business! By the way a vacation is 7 days not 2 days! Two days is a weekend!

Are you ready for some time off? When was your last vacation? I would love to hear your comments and if you agree that "Your Business Will Survive.....So Take A Break!"

Thanks for the advice, Mike.  We all tend to think the world can't go on without us.  My coach keeps on me all lthe time about celebrating and taking vacations.

Vacation is very important, it lets you unwind. I find taking vacation over the Christmas Holidays the best time, not many houses are sold during that time and I can spend much needed time with family and grandchildren.

And atleast one day a week for, pedicure and manicure and that is not just for the ladies!!!!!

Mike:  You are absolutely correct.  I always plan my vacations for the year FIRST in my annual calendar... This way I always have something to look forward to. I find that my most productive time is the two days before leaving for vacation. JC in Vegas

Great post Mike! My entire business is built around this concept for Realtors: You cannot do a good job if you are burned out! And if your clients don't notice how tired and exhausted you are, I bet your family does! We all love to feel needed and appreciated, and Real Estate can be very rewarding in these areas. But as your slogan says, "Your Business Will Survive", so go ahead and get some quality time in for yourself and/or your loved ones. And for those of you who have way too much going on to consider a break right now, I have two words for you: Virtual Assistant!

Markelle- Family is why we work so hard and unfortunately they are also the ones that miss us when we do not have a good balance! Your business is a well kept secret and I will try to spread the word about the benefits of a VA! Have a great day!

Mike.  I agree 1000%.  Systems are key.  And if you can't afford to hire a support team and it's a "you" business...even more important.  I know setting systems up are time consuming but what a relief it is once you have them set up, so much stress, worry and fear go away.

Thanks for the good thoughts!!
