A Piece Of Minot OVER the Super Bowl

If you saw the bombers fly over the Super Bowl then you saw a piece of Minot North Dakota fly overhead. The B52 you saw came from Minot, one of two of the nations B52 bases. Minot hosts two of the nuclear triad legs with the B52's and a nuclear missle base.

We are very proud of our base and personel here in Minot. These are some of the finest young men and women you can possibily meet. One of the B52 pilots is a personal friend and because of that friendship I've meet several of the B52 pilots (there are not many people qualified to fly that big bird).

Hope you enjoyed the fly over and think of Minot ND next time you see one of those big biys fly overhead.

Hello Bob - the televison wasn't turned on until sometime in the third quarter and it was playing in the background for me which is more than I usually "see".  Sorry, I missed the flyover - I am sure the B52s made Minot proud.

Like Michael Jacobs we kind of watched more for commercials.  I have previously seen the B52's fly over, and they do make Minot proud.  We turned it off a bit after the half time.  A

It only took a couple of seconds Michael Jacobs but it was impressive as those are MASSIVE machines to be flying in formation.

It's a big base James Dray and I suspect that it will become a tri-force base before long with The Space Force joining it.

Bob, I had no idea we are down to two B-52 bases now, as I wondered why they didn't use Barksdale as it would be much closer!  Do you know where the second active remaining base is?

As far as I know Sharon & Bruce Walter it's just Minot ND  and Barksdale. Our base is also a missile base so we have two legs of the nuclear triad right here in Minot.

I wondered if it was Barksdale, but it would have seemed they would have used a B-52 from that base for the flyover, Bob and not from Minot.
