Hello Gloria - while I don't much(or anything) about birds, I can see the benefit of such a census.  Happy Counting.  Every bird makes a difference, right?

Hi Gloria - I remember this bird count idea.  I'll  have to pass this year as we've got some construction going on out back and the water fountain is down.  It's so fun to watch all the varities of birds that come by to visit regularly.  We get hundreds of birds!  And along with that is a lot of bird sh**!

Gloria, have not heard of the bird count, and it has been so windy, think they will fly out of the trees!

Gloria- I'm so glad you reminded me of this. I saw it somewhere but forgot to make a note of it. We have a lot of birds in our backyard so I'm excited.

What an interesting event, Gloria... I'd never heard of it. I have no "real" backyard so no birds to watch.

I had no idea there was such an event.  It makes sense however.  I had noticed far fewer magpies in my yard for a couple of years.  Then yesterday, when I was out and about in my community, I came across at least a dozen of then in a neighbor's yard.
