Reshoot The Fall/Winter Listings

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Evers & Co.

Summer is here. I have seen a few winter shoots on the web and this is a message for those agents, it is time to update the listing photos from winter to now. Listings are lasting a lot longer on the market from the previous years. You should update the images to reflect the best of the season. Show the flowers, cut the lawn, lose the old listing pictures with snow, gray skies and no leaves on the trees and get new shots of the home and gardens to add new life to your listing.

With the extended time on market we are seeing here in Detroit there are a lot of homes that still miraculously have snow even though the first day of summer is here. I don't know what these agents are thinking, what would the seller think?

It drives me crazy when spring and summer  come around and there are still winter pcitures.  I am crazy about updating  pictures.  I even go as far as updating my picture if it is a cloudy day picture.  I go back to the listing on the first sunny day and take a new picture.  Or when the garden blooms, we take new pictures.  We are always updated photos, even the inside ones.

You mean to tell me homes on Cape Cod don't have snow on them in the summer?  Some agents must be on vacation themselves...  LOL

I don't think there is anything in real estate that annoys me more that seeing a listing in the summer with snow in it.  It shows such a lack of professionalism.

LOL, I just had some pics re-shot last week.  I see the same thing in Colorado.  Listings always look better with summer foilage.

Piers,

This is one of my biggest pet peeves.  It's just common sense people, change those snow pics.

Obviously it is not a pet peeve of a lot of agents when it should be.

Terry Lynch- You are funny. But it is funny how a listing can still show show when it is already summer. Definitely time to update this listing. Great post Piers.

I could not agree more. I just think it shows just how lazy some agents can be. Or maybe they are just to busy. Do not get it.

Piers, I just subscribed to your blog and I'm going to recommend it to marketing and art directors I work with. Great job of staying on topic!
