That doesn't sound good at all, I hope that you will stay safe through the storm and I will need to reach out to the family I have in that area to make sure all is well with them too.

Hello Patricia - the Fort Worth area made the national news last night and, as you know, not for a good reason. Stay safe(and warm) as the storm hitting your area has had some devastating impact.
I like your connection between the birds you have saw and real estate migration. Like the weather, the topic of moving(and real estate) is typically a conversation-starter.

Good morning Patricia. Sadly, these days in Chicago shootings on our expressways are more dangerous than the worst weather. Stay safe. Enjoy your day!

I was just thinking of you, Patricia, this morning. I heard about that huge accident with some 130 cars in your area... not sure why when people are warned about these storms they don't just stay home. Hope you are staying safe and warm, my friend.

That must have been a wonderful event to watch (the birds). I did see there was a huge pileup in Texas. You're right that when it's close to freezing, extra care has to be taken if someone is going out. Black ice is no fun.
If you can stay home today, that sounds like the way to go. :-)

One of our friends who used to be on Active Rain sent me a few pictures what it is like in Dallas... so I gave her crap that I will not retire in Texas.... she reminded me that the last time this happened was in 1899 :)) stay safe, Endre

Endre Barath, Jr. - Interesting! 🤣
I have feeling you're like me, not easily pursuaded. I'll leave it at that!
I'm staying safe. Thank you. I hope life is good and better than great for you!

George Souto - The huge pileup was just the beginning of things to come. Today the sun shines. Yet to be determined are the repercussions from the ice in process of melting. Biggest concerns right now are structural, pipes broken, ice under shingles, roofs, etc.
I am finally WARM! I hope you are safe and warm too!
Will Hamm - Texans love relos, but none of us would have dreamt the Arctic would move this way and cause such havoc! Waiting for things to settle down. We'll keep in touch.

Ron and Alexandra Seigel - Today the sun shines! Ice is melting - that's our biggest concern right now. I am grateful for heat and skilled/willing to help HVAC technicians!!! All people who provide service are essential!
Thank you for your warm wishes.
Kat Palmiotti - One of your many finest traits is that you are so understanding. Thank you! It's times like this when I wouldn't mind a sleigh ride with a good horse, really warm blankets and clothing, and a thermostat bottle filled with good hot chocolate! But never on black ice. I haven't driven in over a week. Thanks for your friendship!

Nina Hollander - As investigators do their work, people involved in that terrible accident had no warning. I would not want to be among those that dropped the ball. Thanks for thinking of me!

Wayne Martin - I'm so sorry Chicago continues to get such bad press. It doesn't have to be that way. The city is a great city. People just need to learn how to behave and be respectful. Every resident in IL doesn't have to pay the consequences for egregious behavior. Be safe!
Michael Jacobs - Always look to the good - that's my belief. It lessens the pain and emotional stress. I really enjoyed the visit by the birds and glad you liked my transitional story about them too! When I finally braved the cold on foot while surveying/walking around my property for damage after the storm, I saw animal prints. It looked like big foot rabbits to me! I delight in animal stories. They are the survivors that we should all pay attention too.

Be careful folks especially areas that don't see a lot of snow annually. That horrible accident involving 130+ cars and trucks near Fortworth, TX is horrible!
There really is no reason to drive if you don't have to. Just because you don't see tons of snow in Texas, doesn't mean roads are safe to drive.
