Protect Your Sprinkler System For Freezing Temps!

As the old Boy Scout motto says, "Be Prepared"!  😁- Thankfully, most of the year it's WARM in Texas! However, this coming Monday, the weather forecast predicts single-digit temps (unheard of here!) So, everyone is wrapping their outdoor pipes, but one item that is sometime overlooked is the water sprinkler system.

If you have a sprinkler system with outdoor pipes like I used to, make sure you wrap it well! One year when the temps dropped to around 13 degrees, the "Bell" at the top popped off and we had a geyser experience! Eeeek! MANY neighbors had a similar experience, so I'm hoping to save someone the grief/stress/cost. Wrap it really well! I used to place a plush sleeping bag with a water-resistant exterior on top of ours. Hope you all stay warm and well!

Sonja, if you were in Denver today, it would be TOO LATE.  We woke to 6 degrees this morning!

Just last month I had my outdoor water faucet burst. Water inundated the crawl space since I hadn't taken preventive measures before the temperature dropped. That won't happen next year.
