Benefits of Hiring a Real Estate PhotographerPresentation, Presentation, Presentation

In real estate, it is often said the location of the home matters more than anything else. As a homeowner, you are probably familiar with the term location, location, location. Yes, the location matters, but the presentation of your home matters just as much. If your home is not well presented and represented by good quality photographs, it is a risk of getting lost in a busy market place.

Remember that thousands of homes may be for sale in your area at any one given time, Make sure your home stands out in a crowd and get a professional real estate photographer involved from day one.

Staging Your Home

Snapping professional photographs of your home is a bit like fashion photography. It needs to look like a model, a model home. A professional photographer will give you tips and advice on how you can stage your home to make it look like a million bucks. Listen to their advice and let them help you to make sure your home looks better than other homes in the same area. Also, don't forget about the outside, outdoor space sells. Preparing your home is not difficult and does not necessarily cost anything.

Can A Professional Real Estate Photographer Help Me To Sell My Home Faster?

One of the main benefits of hiring a real estate photographer is that your home will sell faster. Buyers are much more likely to look at listings that look more attractive. Check out your local real estate agent’s website and you will soon spot the difference between amateur photography and professional photographs. Which one are you most attracted to? Almost all buyers are more attracted to professional photographs.

That means you will get more viewings. As a result, your home will sell faster.

Getting More Money For Your Home With A Professional Real Estate Photographer

Am I going to get more money for my home when I hire a real estate photographer? Yes, you will achieve a better price when you hire a professional photographer. Getting more viewings certainly helps when it comes to achieving a better price. The competition will increase and you are likely to get more than one or two offers.

When your home looks great in a photo, the perceived value is increased, and that matters a lot. A potential buyer will think that he is buying a luxury home instead of a run of the mill home.

Make Sure You Control The License Of Your Photographs

There is one thing that you need to be aware of when you hire a professional real estate photographer. Make sure the photos or drone photography of your home, are licensed to you.

What are the benefits of licensing? The concept of licensing is simple. Licensing means the photographs belong to you and you control how they are used. For instance, you can license them to your local real estate agent. Don’t worry, most real estate agents have worked with licensed photography. They know hiring a professional photographer to help you sell your home can make a HUGE difference.

Promoting Your Home

There is also another major benefit of licensing the photos to you. When you own the license, you can promote your home yourself. If your home has some interesting features, even publications such as Houzz are interested in featuring your home. Imagine telling buyers your home has been featured in Houzz - they will love it.

Also, you can take the opportunity to promote your home on social media. Simply set up accounts with popular social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Don’t forget to check out keywords and hashtags that will help you to sell your home even faster. This is all about creating interest in your home. If you are selling your home without the help of a real estate agent, this is particularly important.

Final Thoughts

Yes, hiring a professional real estate photographer is one of the best things you can do. You will sell your home faster and probably get your investment back many times over when you achieve a better price for your home. With that being said, if you hire a top Realtor in your area they will not only hire a professional they will pay for it too!

Hello Michelle - nice to "see" you on the pages of AR.  While "perfection" may not be achieved, the ideal look can be achieved with the proper professional photographer.  The decision to choose one is right.

Totally agree Michelle. I tried taking photos myself early in my career & failed miserably. I've been using a pro ever since & get compliments all the time on my photos. It's definitely worth the price.

There was a time when I took the photos for my listings. I had a quality camera. I have always liked to take photos. I have even taken a couple of amateur photography classes. Then, I was introduced to professional photography for real estate. Wow! Compared to the pros, my photos were over or under exposed and, generally, sup-par. Bathroom shots were especially problematic. Anyway, that was then and now our Team uses professional photographers who take wonderful, attractive photos, use drones, and Matterport 3D tours. And we provide that benefit to our clients at no additional cost.

Yes, you know that it sets us apart from others who use their cell phone cameras for listing photos to “save” money, not realizing that they are costing the client money re: sales price.
