Beautiful Hikes in Cave Creek AZ

What a beautiful day for a hiking on Cave Creek AZ trails - warm weather, a few friendly clouds, quiet and serene Nature. This was an accidental photo of a human standing by an ancient saguaro. My guess would be, it is probably 200-year old one.

We started by Maricopa Trail, walked along a wash. There were a few more photo opportunities - of the giant saguaros, and the newly springing jumping cactus.

I could not miss to photograph somebody's effort to tidy up the ragged area. They must have left the rake for somebody else to finish the work.

After a good walk, we drove to the Horny Toad Cafe.

Horny Toad Cafe - oldest original restaurant in cave Creek, AZ

We chose our next trail starting point - right here, 6738 E Cave Creek Road, Cave Creek AZ 85331. The trail looked pleasant, and wide open as a river.

Hello Steffy - more evidence that such "accidents" can prove quite pleasant.

I have not been hiking in Cave Creek, but the trail that you explored looks like a good one!

HI Michael Jacobs , I was taking a photo of the road to a listing of mine, and didn't want to ask him to move. 😀

Brian England , I liked this trail, and at this time of year, it is a pleasant walk, with a few jack rabbits nearby, and lots of birds. I like shorter tarils, so this worked very well.

Steffy, your hiking area is quite inviting, and think the Horny Todd Cafe would be a fun way to end a hike.

Hi Joan Cox , it took a while to really understand hiking in the desert, but now I love it and walk as much as I can, away from urban life. Yes, the cafe is quite popular with locals and with hikers, too. Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Steffy Hristova - There is nothing like hiking in Arizona.  I also have found that living at the 4500 ft level that visitors can get altitude sickness.  They need to drink a lot of water.  I recently forgot to tell someone that so I am making a mental note to remind others.

Hi Sheri Sperry - MCNE® , having a bottle of water handy is always a good practice in the desert, even more so if the altitude is 4500 ft. Is that Sedona's altitude?
