A snaphot of Spring in The Golden Isles

Springtime in the Golden Isles means moderate temperatures ranging from the night time 50's to the upper 70's daytime.  This range is accompanied by clear day time skies with the occasional late afternoon/evening thunder boomer and late afternoon on shore breezes.

The landscape takes on an ever growing and glowing green tint with blossoms from thousands of azaleas, wild plum trees and Dogwoods breaking through the winter grays to provide springtime color from the beaches throughout the mainland and marshland areas.

Of coarse there are a few negatives such as the influx of visitors from colder environs as well as the bursting of pollen and spores from the rag weed and oak and pine forests.  But that is transitional and readily remedied by those intermittent afternoon showers: Regardless it passes in 30 days.

A few other interesting things that happen in the Golden Isles begin with the arrival of the Sea Turtles.  Yep annually, they arrive on the barrier Isles up and down the Georgia coast to nest.  About the same time we notice a marked increase in birds of all shapes and form. In the coastal waters we are fortunate to be on the migratory path of the endangered "Wright Whale".  Additionally, multiple "King Fish" tournaments come forth which means our harbors and marinas come back to life for the mutual benefit of all.  Add to that the increase in the golfing population, the sailing population and you can just imagine why year after year we see the annual migration to "The Golden Isles" from throughout the world.
