When I woke up on Wed. I thought I was within 2 weeks of listing. It is remotely possible that I am. The first thing that happened is it got snowy and cold. That sort of stops the outside work cold (pun intended). The painter is behind schedule but if we have to we can come behind him. Not me. I attract paint. During this project I finally managed to paint without making too much of a mess.
On Wed we were supposed to get the beautiful new garage door. The old wooden garage door had a smile and you could see light through it. Turns out I need a special track because there is not enough clearance. It is supposed to go in today. We shall see. Up the budget by $200 .
On Friday we were supposed to put in the new floor for the bathoom and kitchen. My partner in crime (and the handy one was having a tooth extracted). First thing that went wrong was that there was no plhalnge. I watched a video and bought 2 different kinds. I was almost willing to try to install it to get the floor in. When I got back I was told I needed some sub-floor repair. Probably has something to do with the lack of phalnge. I knew I couldn't do this. I wanted to leave Bill alone so he could rest. So we wait. Bill called at the end of the day and told me he would do it on Monday.
This is not nearly as bad as the initial delay when we all got Covid and was off work for a month.
When one is doing prep or rehab work one must allow extra time and money. It is just part of the job.
I think they should make a show about Bill Taylor and me. Two unrelated real estate friends that works together to make old houses beautiful on a real budget. We are very good and we know how to bring a home back to life on a real budget.
Time to get dressed and get to Caldwell. I begged for the garage door to go in first thing. I forgot to ask the company what first thing meant to them.... I better be there around 8 AM.
