Listing Agents are Marketing Agents!! Marketing agents do that task every day to make the phone ring. That’s so easy to say, but unless you have a game plan leading to the ultimate goal of Branding a Name, your efforts will be futile.
To market properly, one must be consistent and expect to spend money. Marketing changes as the market changes. Marketing varies from area to area within a town or city, and that equates to testing what works.
Testing will cost money, but when the testing is finished and the results are revealed, you will have a clear understanding of the marketplace. You must have knowledge or have done research to understand the facts about the socioeconomics of the communities.
When marketing, you must think like the target, and to accomplish that you must know as much as possible about the target. Marketing is too expensive to provide without any thought behind it.
A marketing plan with an immediate purpose is essential, and this consistent activity will result in branding of a name plus the visibility of the property being marketed. Most feel one is as important as the other.
For me, branding is the ultimate reason for marketing, if you’re a listing agent. The strength of a brand is in direct proportion to the degree of the “quality of the marketing.” Think First; Properly Research and Have a Plan that will Result in New Business.
The greater the number of years you have “under your belt” with marketing, the better your judgment about your next marketing piece. It takes practice to hone what you recognize as instincts.
