One of the options for this month’s challenge was to do a “bucket filling” post. Since I started doing these last fall, dozens of people have told me that they thought “bucket filling” should be done more often. And yet, nobody else made it a regular habit. So, I made it a part of this month’s challenge. I hope that perhaps others will carry this torch further and fill people’s buckets on a regular basis.
I have enjoyed the bucket fillings that I have seen as a part of this month’s challenge. And it sparked an idea in me. Now I am stating very clear and right up front that I have absolutely no authority whatsoever in Active Rain. I’m not an owner, employee or ambassador (I don’t even have a clue how someone becomes an ambassador). Nonetheless, I am hereby creating my 100% totally unauthorized
ACTIVE RAIN HALL OF FAME
Now, my criteria were simple. I looked to find who had been with AR the longest, scored the most points (since really the points are all about interacting with other AR members), were with us currently and had continued to be helpful and serve – even if retired. Here is my 100% totally unauthorized Active Rain Hall of Fame list of inductees for 2021 (cue the music please):
Jeff Dowler - Jeff Dowler is a member of the AR community since 2006. Jeff teaches so much by his posts. How to keep market reports fresh and interesting, how to share about the world around us and much more. Jeff is also one of those folks who is consistent and reaches out to others in our community.
George Souto – George has been helping out AR members long before he became the “go to” guy for information about the AR weekly Zoon calls. George has also been in the community since 2006. Knowledgeable and helpful, George is an important part of our community.
Margaret Rome – Margaret is far more than just a radio personality. She is an accomplished real estate agent with an impeccable reputation and someone that is habitually helping others on AR – especially in the Q & A area. And she often has the best questions during the Tuesday calls.
Roy Kelley – Roy came to AR in 2007. Now ever though Roy is now retired, there may be nobody else in the entire community that goes above and beyond to serve their local community like Roy does. And of course, he is also kind enough to share Chef Dolores’ recipes with us as well.
Joan Cox – Joan is so consistent and kind throughout the AR community. Also a member since 2007, Joan uses her posts to give us great insight into her market place and uses her kindness and humility to help so many in the AR family.
Endre Barath, Jr. – Endre . . . the man wasn’t born in this country and still is the greatest example of an American that I can think of. Besides all that he is a high producing top agent and so incredibly helpful and humble. A man that so many of us look up to.
Kathy Streib – All I can think of when I hear Kathy’s name is joy. Like the giggle and smile of a child, Kathy lightens up all of our days. Always empowering and encouraging Kathy has cheered on countless AR members of which I am but 1.
Dorie Dillard – Dorie has been a part of the AR community since 2008. Not only does she show us the consistency of a top producing agent in her marketplace, she also lives the values of savoring time with friends and family. If you don’t know who Handsome Hudson and Beautiful Beckett are, surely you haven’t been following Dorie’s posts.
Wayne Martin – Wayne is the daily cup of coffee for so many of us. Every day challenging us with 4 new questions as well as providing the answers to yesterday’s questions. In addition, Wayne continues to reach out to countless agents and continuously comment on their blogs and encouraging their growth.
Now I have a special award. I call this the rainbow award. After all the best part of any rain is the rainbow, right? More than a Hall of Fame induction, this award is only given to acknowledge someone that exemplifies all that our community stands for. This person volunteers countless hours behind the scenes, maintains the position of the top 1% in her marketplace. All the while, she continually reaches out to members and encourage them publicly as well as gently guide them privately. We all know her, we all love her (and her sunset photographs), the rainbow award winner is Debe Maxwell!
Yeah, okay, so I didn’t have a grand ballroom filled with thousands of people. And it’s true, you can’t hop into a car and take the kids on a cross-country trip to show them the hall of fame. And these people will get no trophy or even a Jack In The Box gift card. But they do have my gratitude and I am sure yours as well. What say you?
