Winter Lunch Al Fresco at Moonlight Beach
~ Encinitas CA ~
It was another beautiful winter day here in SoCal...low 60s...and just right for a take-out lunch and dining al fresco at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas, about 20 minutes south of where we live (although a longer trip today due to Saturday traffic).
This was our view, sitting on one of the benches on the bluff at the edge of the parking lot. Not bad, huh?!
We had a special wine order to pick up at the 3rd Corner Wine Shop and Bistro and decided to order take-out lunch (Cajun Fish Tacos; Yellow Beet and Arugula Salad with goat cheese and toasted walnuts) to enjoy at the beach overlooking the beach and ocean.
Moonlight Beach is very popular year round...as you can see...and offers a lot for residents and visitors: the beach is handicapped accessible; several beach volleyball courts; bath house with snack bar; and kids' playground.
The parking is pretty ample (parking lot, side streets), although on weekends and holidays, and especially in the summer, it's a challenge.
