When Staging your home don't overlook the value of adding florals to add life to your home.  If you are looking for inexpensive florals to Stage your home with... run down to Walmart.  I was really excited when I saw these hydrangeas in a store in Toronto. I have used them for three houses now and the clients and Realtors always have positive things to say. The vases and crystals are from Walmart as well.

Advantage Staging will market your home to stand out from the competition every time.

Investment, minimal.

Impact, priceless.

Hi Maureen, Yes they do elicit the best responses I have received to date for my florals.

The stems are $ 4.00 each and come in red, verigated red, blue, verigated blue, and cream. If you look at my post about headboards you will see them in the cream colour. I liked them so much I kept using them throughout the house.

The vases are $ 5.95 each I believe. I might be out by a dollar there. The crystals are $ 3.97 for the large bag. I know you can go to the dollar store for these but by the time you buy enough bags you have spent the same amount of money.

Let me know if you have different florals available in the U.S. We never get the same products as you do. That's why most of us cross the border to shop at least once per year.

Very Pretty and what a punch they give.  Your "headboard" post was useful too.

Thanks Karen, I am always looking for headboard ideas. I was watching a tv show the other day and they put two flat panel doors on the horizontal, strapped the backs together and then attached them to the wall and painted them. Waaaaaaay tooooo much work for me. LOL!!!!

HI Kathy,  I find that when they have a long rectangle table it really helps to put it in proportion by using multiple vases of flowers. One floral always seems so lonely by itself. Lost in space.

Nice!  I don't usually think of WalMart for staging items but these look great.

Michelle,  Those are great. I live in Wal-Mart county, we call it Wally-World here. I have purchased several items for my inventory. They have a new line of furniture too, called Canopy, you can check it out on their website.

These are awesome, Michelle.  They actually look like something Pier 1 would sell.  I'll have to scoot over to Wal Mart and check these out as hydrangeas are one of my most favorite flower.

Thanks for sharing.

Hi Kathy, Christine and Donna,

Pier One is not a store that I can find things for Staging. I don't know what it is about that store. I go in full of anticipation and come out empty handed every time.

In the last few months Walmart has really come through with some fabulous florals. Before Staging for a living I would never have even thought of Walmart as a source for beutiful florals. Now that the bottom line is important I look in the most unusual places for inventory. We have a dollar store that really doesn't have anything for a dollar. But what they do have is fabulous ceramic vases and artwork like no other I can find. You just never know.

Hi Michelle...These look great!

I am definitely not an artificial flower lover but last year I bought some tulips and they are beautiful.  They are in my office and I have had clients in the middle of the winter ask me where I found fresh tulips.

Thanks for the tip on Walmart...really like the vases.

Hi Kathleen, I was definitely a non fan of artificial flowers as well. Staging changed my mind when I realized that the homeowners are not willing to maintain the fresh flowers. What are we to do as Stagers? We have to take into account their busy lifestyles and the fact that this is not a priority with them.

The very first job I did both homeowners were pilots and were flying out of town for days on end. That was a wasted effort placing fresh flowers there.  I learned very quickly where to buy realistic looking artificials. I have never looked back since.

HI MIchele,

Beautiful picture!

I've used greenery from Walmart quite a bit.  I like their small potted greens for side tables, as well as their mid-sized floor shrubs.  Right now, their assortment is a little off, but I'll keep checking.

Hi Nancy and Sandra,

You know I just Destaging a house and noticed their lovely flower garden and thought to myself that I should start growing my own flowers. That way the property can have live flowers at relatively little cost. For the Realtor tour and the open house it would defintitely show well.

Sandra, do you keep going back to the house to replace the live flowers or do you leave them with artificial to replace the live ones with after they have died off?

Michelle - I use fake in my staged properties.  The only exception would be if the open house is the next day or the sellers are willing to maintain.  I have used live ferns and the sellers are okay with that.  I have found when I suggest live versus fake the home sellers almost always opt for fake.
