Gary and I start and finish every day with gratitude and thankfulness for the good life we are able to enjoy. This past year, we've thought this, even more so quite frequently. It's given us the chance to 'sort' through what we really enjoy doing and do more of that.
We are also very grateful for all our wonderful friendships. We have enjoyed our 'bubble' of friends throughout the year. There are 8 of us in total that continued to enjoy dinners, picnics etc. And now, we're planning a party on Memorial Day Weekend to include many others. You see, here in AZ we're open and many folks have been immunized for some time now. Yes, I know we consider ourselves lucky. When we hear what's still going on in CA or NY it's seems nuts to us as I'm sure it does for many folks living there.
What has changed this year is that one of our dear friends is very ill and probably won't make it past this year. We're still hoping for a miracle and that could happen for her. It's hard to imagine life without out this amazing lady. Gary also just learned that his long time Air Force buddy does not have long to live either. Kind of a weird week. And at the same time, we're grateful for both of these dear friends. Life is good and it makes us even more aware of just how important it is to 'make the best' of each day. Think good thoughts, be kind, let others know you care, and do what you enjoy. Pretty simple, isn't it...
