Potato Chips, Scrambled Eggs and Avocados, oh my!

By

Recently Active Rain has become a little bit of a colourful greasy spoon, with all the food being bandied about.  Pricing like potato chips?  Scrambling some eggs, the devil's avocado.  All colourful phrases, no?

I love all of the above.  Potato chips, I still haven't met a bag I haven't liked and needed to inhale.  Kettle Chips, Ridges, seasoned, they're all good and the more the merrier, in my humble opinion.

Eggs scrambled, or otherwise. Poached, fried, grilled, omelettes, all good, especially with hash browns, and a side of those little tiny pancakes slathered with butter, and topped with warmed maple syrup.

Avocados, I'm almost always willing to pay the upcharge to have them added to my order.  I love them halved, with a spoon, I love them in a salad, on a sandwich, and guacamolé?  Don't get me started.  Give me a back of corn chips, some nicely seasoned guac, the superbowl on the telly and I'm in hog-heaven.

We are, indeed, a melting pot, here in Active Rain.  I hope you're enjoying.

Alan,

So true about the food references here on Active Rain.  Avocados continue to be my favorites.  There is always a ripe one for us to eat...A

I buy a bag of avocados from Costco.  I cut them in half, and sit in front of the television and eat them (not all of them at once) with a spoon.  A great healthy snack.

Hello Alan - a trip to ActiveRainLand offers a real smorgasbord of sorts with a daily deli spread or a runaway cart passing dim sum.

I like that Michael.

You hit on some of my weaknesses for food as well, and even managed to get this past that angry Mutt

The angry chihuahua and I have an understanding.

Oh my gosh, Alan!  Put a bag of Ruffles in front of me and I'm a happy camper...add guacamole and sheer bliss. Then, Michael had to mention dim sum and now I'm craving that. We are like a smorgasbord or stir fry here for sure.

Hi Alan,  I can't start my day without my eggs.  I do a lot of egg-sperimenting with them.  There are so many good ways to prepare eggs.

egg-sperimenting... I see what you did there.

I never really had guac as a kid growing up.  But many moons ago on a business trip just south of the border we went out for lunch.  On the menu, fresh guac and was it goooooooood!  Liz makes some good guac and we tend to keep a few avocados on hand to add to various meals.

I know... if you've never had it before, it looks kinda gross... but it's oh, so good.

I have to stop reading about food first thing in the morning. I'm crazy an omelet with some avocados on the side now.

Thanks!?
