HAPPY SPRING, Everyone!! It Has Finally Arrived!!
Spring is such a beautiful time of year. After the winter snow has turned black and dreary, and many times of shoveling and driving through the snow, many of us welcome the first day of spring. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy the fresh blanket of snow. It makes everything look so fresh and clean.
This winter most of the country has gone through many cold, freezing days and, at least in the northeast, many days shoveling. We are now ready to welcome the color and warmth of spring along with new life.
I enjoy seeing the buds begin to open on trees and plants, the longer days to be able to enjoy the outdoors, the birds busy building their nests, being able to go out and ride my horse without worrying about him slipping and hurting himself on the slippery footing, and so much more spring has to offer.
Another sure sign of spring is, for those of us that have horses and own pets, is that they are shedding their winter coats. As we all know, when we groom our horses and pets, we end up covered in their hair. With horses, we also must clean off the wonderful mud that they rolled in, which also ends up on us. But that is all okay. We get to enjoy our animals and nature more without being all bundled up.
Make it a great first day of spring and enjoy the rest of spring as much as possible. It will be over before you know it.
