Horseback Waterfall Tours - Rhett Leonard is the owner of Horseback Waterfall Tours, as well as Rockin’ Reverend Ranch in Pickens County, about 24 miles northwest of Greenville. Leonard skillfully matches horse to rider, and then you will embark on an unforgettable horseback adventure through Transylvania County, Western North Carolina’s “Land of the Waterfalls”. Much of the trail ride takes you through DuPont State Forest, with views of Triple Falls, High Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls -- all connected by the Little River. Another horseback tour that Leonard offers a little closer to home in South Carolina involves a six hour trip to Jumping Off Rock, where you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of Lake Jocassee. Visit the Horseback Waterfall Tours website.

JMG Ranch - Started by Jeff Griffith and just three horses in 1994, JMG Ranch now boasts over twenty horses and promises an “unforgettable Western adventure” through the foothills of South Carolina. All rides are guided by one of the experienced professionals at JMG Ranch, where the staff has a combined 56 years of riding experience. Trail rides range from 30 minutes to 2 hours, and are always kicked off by a brief lesson in riding safety. JMG Ranch also offers “Mountain Escapes” -- 2 to 5 day camping trips through the mountains to equestrian friendly state parks, or a private location within 3 hours of Greenville. Tents, entertainment, and food are provided. Check out their website for more info, as well as photos of the horses.

Black Horse Run - Black Horse Run is a 45 acre horse farm in Fountain Inn, South Carolina with between 20 and 30 horses. Jerry Cooper, founder and owner since 1981, says that Black Horse Run is not just a horse farm -- it’s a ministry. Black Horse Run’s mission is to provide a place where you can ride, relax, and reconnect with what is really important in life. The scenic trails at Black Horse Run wind through the woods, creeks, open fields, and hills. The trail ride can be customized to the comfort level and experience of the rider. Black Horse Run offers day rides as well as overnight camping trips.
