What a great post and play on your part on a common sense saying.   Sometimes finding out more about the author of a quote leads one on an interesting adventure.  I had no idea who Bruce Dickinson was, nor do I enjoy this type of music.  Hats off to him for his gold record.  Cheers!  A

Hi Michael- Very thought-provoking quote!!!  We forget that people who are "celebrities" or have achieved some amount of notoriety put their britches on one leg at a time like everyone else. 

I definitely was surprised at a Bruce Dickinson quote appearing as the lead in your post today.  Made me wonder if that was the same Bruce from Iron Maiden, but alas I got to the middle of the post and saw it was.

We all have commonalities, no matter how different we may seem.  There's a lot of comfort in that for me.

Michael, have no idea who your quote was from, but we do all have similarities, but not all quite the same.    

Michael, I have family members who were heavy metal fans, and although I don't know any of their music, I have heard the name before.

We can all find common ground if we look for it Michael and music is definitely universal. I speak it fluently when dancing to it!

Michael, I have a special love and interest in the fun behind idioms.  I recall once trying to find the origin and history behind the idiom:  [Raining Cats and Dogs]...
Can't you just imagine the fun in being an etymologist and studying the literal and mythological origin, history,  explanation and theories behind words and phrases especially, hyperboles and idioms.

I had to laugh... the first thing I thought about was my grandson resisting adamantly, I might add, to try on some new pants for a birthday party yesterday.  It was a real tug-of-war! HaHa.  That quote by Bruce could be taken in many different ways depending on your frame of mind.  I thought it was very clever. 

I love the Iron Maiden reference...

Hello Michael,  Superman, was fast of changing as long as he could find a phone booth.  He be out of luck in 2021!

It may make us feel at time that we can do super jobs far better than anyone else, just because we may have pulled a rabbit out of a hat on a particularly tough deal, but the next day we look over and the pants are on a hanger waiting to be put on again, one leg at a time.

Michael - is it just human nature to crave what others have while neglecting to see the gifts within? Do all children try to be like everyone else, even those learning to put their own pants on? 

You will always be Superman to me Michael!
