Is anyone out there?

Real Estate Agent with Sulek & Dutton Real Estate

Over the last 8 years in my real estate life I have been part (on a number of occasions) of presenting Real Estate Buyer and Seller Seminars. These were seminars that were open and free to the public with the intent on educating potential buyers and sellers about the process they would be entering into when buying or selling property. Unfortunately, what I have found is that the attendance was pitifully low and sometimes zilch! Now, I am not complaining at all about this BUT what I am wondering there anyone out there who would be interested in free, no obligation information? Information that would assist them in becoming better informed buyers and sellers? I know everyone is EXTREMELY busy in their everyday lives- maybe there is a better way to get the information to them.... any suggestions?

I have found better attendance at our seminar if we center it around a subject---for example, we had our last one about tax base transfers for people 55 and older and held it in a neutral location, so the buyers and sellers don't feel it is a "sales pitch." We had a title company expert come in to talk on the subject, gave away lunch and provided a drawing for a free gift certificate. Hope your next one comes out better

Jamie, I have contemplated doing this in conjunction with a mortgage lender but would like to hear from others who have had success with these.

My thoughts turn to motivation on this Monday afternoon. After coming off of Sunday Open Houses- writing the thank you notes, entering new prospects, etc. I was wondering how the top producer agents keep motivated. Lately I have been listening to Danielle Kennedy's motivational CDs which are a GREAT way to keep motivated and renew within my psyche what I know I already know but somehow must get pushed back to the recesses of my brain. Every time I get into my car (when I don't have clients with me) I pop in the CD and renew myself with real estate knowledge! It doesn't have to be Danielle Kennedy's message, I am sure there are many others out there that are equally as good, but somehow these messages keep my spirits up, keeps me from getting discouraged and just plain reinforces some great scripts to use regularly.

Does anyone out there have other ideas for rejunivation and motivation?

It's not a game, it's your life.

Jamie, welcome to Active Rain!  You've got to have faith.  Instead of inviting people to come to the seminar, invite renters to come and "evaluate" the information that is given so you can present more effectively to those that want to buy.
