Every Question Becomes the Starting Point

Without question, every question becomes the starting point for something to think about. But what do we do after we think? Do we follow through? Postpone? Forget about it? Wait?

Throughout our lives we are given generous questions, reasons, possibilities, opportunities, and yet…. the door slams and often times, we are the ones who slam the door in our own face. How many times have you heard, there’s nobody to blame but yourself?

The late, great novelist Douglas Adams (11 March 1952 – 11 May 2001) used to say that time is an illusion, lunch time doubly so. But my favorite Douglas Adams quote is: I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by. Douglas Noel Adams was an English author, screenwriter, essayist, humorist, satirist and dramatist. Adams was author of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, which originated in 1978 as a BBC radio ... Source: Wikipedia

Another great quote to ponder by Douglas Adams: "Let us think the unthinkable, let us do the undoable, let us prepare to grapple with the ineffable itself, and see if we may not eff it after all."

We live in an extremely complex world but when we don’t ask the pertinent questions, how can we move forward and blossom like spring flowers or obtain wealth through owning real estate? And just as you begin to think the haunting memories of 2008 may come back to haunt you, ask yourself: Are you paralyzed by fear?

What’s going on right now in the housing market is the unthinkable – multiple offers that doesn’t seem to end. It’s taxing, tiring, and triumphant when the buyer wins the bidding war but is this another plague or just a dilemma about how far will we go? How much will we spend? How badly do you want something?  Man waits for no one? Is that true?

Thinking back to 2008, this misfortune that was occurring at epidemic proportions became the starting-point of prosperity for people trapped in debt, desperately needing to start fresh and rethink their own lifestyles. Getting out of debt is never easy but it can be done! Investors flourished! Potential buyers willing to roll up their sleeves and renovate, repair, and remodel got a deal and when it was time to flip, many prospered, acquiring wealth.

So, the questions are, what is the question? What is the starting-point and where will it lead you? I have been keenly aware of the number of newborns these days. To think, they were all conceived during the pandemic. Life does go on. Now that's something to think about!

Hello Patricia - I agree with you about the beginning aspects of questions.  Sometimes there are answers or even more questions.  When they lead to connections "more" is possible.

Michael, there are layers and layers of questions to answer under every question. Unfortunately for some, there are many onion skins to peel back and plenty of reasons to cry. Sometimes I think suffering is self-induced. And by the way, I will never be sorry to hear a new born baby's cry, nor allow it to be ignored.

Smart consumers are anxious to take advantage of the very low mortgage interest rates but are finding multiple challenges in the real estate market.

Yes! the challenges are numerous. Having the right real estate agent to guide the buyer and/or the seller is worth it. Whether  it is a buyer's market or a seller's market, stress is inevitable. Making an effort to alleviate stress to clients by being truthful should be the goal of every active real estate agent. Working with cooperative Brokers helps the process tremendously.

Patricia,

What a great post!  Ron and I have seen newborns with their parents on the beach.  The parents we have talked to felt this was a treasured opportunity to be with their new baby boy or girl (from the fathers who were now working from home) and with their wives.  Happiness radiated from all of them...We have seen frenzies of buying before and those who claimed victory because they overbid.   And this too shall pass.  A

Ron & Alexandra,

I can honestly say that when my children were born, America was going through a lot of financial stress with gas and oil, jobs, Vets not getting hired for meaningful work, and growing pains starting from the top of our government. After my first child was born, I went back to work because discrimination against Vet's was so prevalent, I ended up being the bread-winner on meager wages. But when my second child was born, my husband grew #^&$! took three jobs and told me, I was staying home with the kids and would never work again as long as he was alive. Unfortunately, that was true, I didn't go back to work until after he died. My only sorrow was that he wasn't there, locked down in that house, able to work from home to get to enjoy his children and me!

What  you saw was a true awakening and my testimony is true.

Patricia I have been told very often "there’s nobody to blame but yourself", but I have said to myself more times than I care to remember "there is no one to blame but myself".

George, I'm guilty too. Taking responsibility for oneself and the actions we take is the most mature and responsible behavior to practice and pass on to others.
