Oh it was a busy and exciting day! I will go ahead and tell you the good news - I passed my real estate exam this morning. Thanks to Frankie Griffin at the Real Estate School for Success for seeing that I was well prepared. The most aggrevating thing was that afterwards, I took my paperwork to the RE Commission and was told I had to wait until tomorrow to pick up my actual license. (It seems I was too fast and the computer from the test site had not told the state's computer that I passed)
I filled out all my paperwork to officially join Keller Williams and the National Association of Realtors. Tomorrow I will be able to go to the MLS, but I can't actually join until I can go to their class. URGHH! I have a buyer and a seller waiting on me. I know I need to be patient but after 8 years of waiting to begin my RE career, I am tired of waiting.
Today I attended my first KW Team Meeting, a Lunch-n-Learn with a virtual assistant, and class on prospecting for listings. I met several very nice agents who said I could call anytime if I needed help. After hearing the nightmares of new agents who could not get help from experienced agents, it was good to have those offers of assistance.
I am trying to remember that I must crawl before I can walk and walk before I can run.
Thanks again for all your support! Here at home support comes and goes. My husband doesn't mind me starting a new career, but he doesn't want it to interfere with our family. Let's just say he's supportive when he is in a good mood. I just need to prove to him that I can do this by getting clients and get them to closing. I also need to balance it with the children. The last 4 weeks have been tough with all the classes. It should be better from here on out. Although it is not going to help that I have a preschool bookfair on Thursday and Friday afternoon. (have to pay those MLS fees)
For all of you that are juggling several balls while trying to get your RE career off the ground - you are not alone and we can all succeed.
Tomorrow I have New Agent Orientation and a contract class.
And yes, I did get to take the kids swimming this afternoon.
