A 3 br, 2 bath in East Bay 2,400 sf mid -1950s with some view received 29 offers recently. What is astounding is it was sold 1 million dollars over asked price.

Home prices are selling +22% this spring more than before the Pandemics.  One should be prepared to have everything paper ready.  They are not conducting open houses due to health exposure concerns.  Listing agents are surprised that they have more offers than viewing times. The minute difference is those did not view the home in person left inspection contingency on as their offers are often not accepted.

Bidding wars over homes in the SF Bay Area are not unusual during the pandemic, but selling a house for $1 million over asking.

This steep bumped up price did not surprise me and locals at the home is away from the traffic and there is a view.

-It sold for $2.3 million – double the asking price. If it started in the million dollars range often it is a fix upper. You get the land only.

-The initial asking price was indeed low to get people's attention.

The Harvard Circle home not far from the university features 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, across ~2,400 square feet.

I am not surprised it went over more. Listing price was too low.

Congratulations Sam! There are older homes in Dallas with one car garages or just a carport and very small closets built in the 1950s and 1960s. Before my client could see them, they were already under contract and all sold way over list price.

I think you are right, "Listing price was too low." Better luck next time. There's a lot of buyers out there.

P.S. I hope you get your story about about poppies and Tiawan!

Sam, and I was thinking $100K over asking was a lot, not anymore!  Just WOW!
