Yarnell dip can

What is this?  Yarnell Ice Cream dip can....now painted. Good memory!

Yarnell's Ice Cream was a Searcy AR favorite.  The ice cream was delicious and the company was in business until a few years ago.  It sold and has recently sold again. This photo was supplied by our Searcy Sleuth Anita Hart Fuller who reported that a friend sent it to her.  The friend bought it at a sale and had it painted to be more attractive and to hold flowers.  The dip can held ice cream in various ice cream parlors and the ice cream was dipped onto a dish or cone.  It must have been in a big container judging by its height.  Wonder what the 42 meant?

Yarnell's is now owned by Turkey Hill and their ice cream is wonderful....just as Yarnell's was.  In addition,Turkey Hill has something that I really like outside.  Click here to see the blog that I did earlier.  The item was moved for awhile but is back right now. Drive by to see her!

When I graduated from Searcy High School in 1954, my first job was working for Yarnell's Ice Cream Factory. On Saturdays the newbie me had to steam clean soured ice cream  tainted cans and that was the nastiest job ever!

It has been a gorgeous 74 degree day here in Sacramento.  Perfect for ice cream.  I enjoy Gunther's ice cream here.  And, Snook's ice cream in nearby Folsom.

I  remember the corner pharmacy where the soda fountain attendant would dip into cans like that and make a great ice cream soda
