Today I toured the prettiest 1940s Cape Cods in close-in Silver Spring, MD. Cape Cods are among my favorites... as are most homes built pre-1960. They have a charm that you just cannot find in new(ish) construction, nor replicate.
Driving from one listing to the next, I spotted this springy ray of sunshine pictured above, laughing right at me with its vibrant exterior and welcoming curb appeal. I love painted brick - although I probably would choose a color that is not quite as bright, this one caught my eye and just made me smile. Doesn't it look like love and laughter live there?
This house is not currently for sale, but if it were, buyers would remember it, no doubt... the happy yellow house! It would also be under contract within days, and probably sell (well) above list price.
Cape Cods in close-in Silver Spring are a hot commodity right now, selling in under a week and for an average of 581K (20901) and 695K (20910). If you have a charming home to sell in Silver Spring, MD or beyond, now would be a great time! Looking for an agent who adores vintage homes and appreciates original charm? ♥ It's always been the vintage, the old house charm and the original details that I adore the most, that draw me in, make my [REALTOR®] heart flutter, and prompt me to pause to listen and retell their stories. I specialize in finding and marketing charming homes that are unique and rich in character, or history, or both. I believe in preservation, second chances, saving the pink bathrooms, and front porch living. In this weekly series I highlight charming homes that I am either listing to find just the right buyer for, or admiring with my special clients, or that have simply caught my eye while walking or running the streets, rolling trails, and [historic] subdivisions of Maryland and beyond. Adore charming homes as much as I do? Then I'd love it if you'd follow me on Instagram @onceuponahaus is where I grow my curated collection.
