Here is you chance to tour Palisade's wineries and ride a bike at the same time! Tour de Vineyards 2021 event is now accepting reservations. Brought to you by Roll Massif, this event is one of the biggest of the year. The date is September 18, 2021 and is the day before the iconic Colorado Mountain Winefest.
The tour is open to recreational and competitive cyclists. This is a great opportunity to celebrate fall, outside in the lush vineyards, under the Colorado sun, getting exercise in the beautiful mountains of the Grand Mesa and Bookcliffs.
Palisade is Colorado's only legitimate wine region, with more than two dozen vineyards and tasting rooms tucked into the eastern corner of Colorado's Grand Valley.
You can choose between a leisurely 23 mile route that follows the Palisade Fruit & Wine Byway and the more challenging 58 mile route that adds on a loop up and over the Reeder Mesa Climb.
After a good ride, enjoy a hearty meal right at the finish line in downtown Palisade and then go over to the Colorado Mountain Winefest (you will need a separate ticket), held just a few blocks away at Riverbend Park.
By participating in Tour de Vineyards you will also be supporting the Town of Palisade, Colorado Association for Viticulture & Enology (CAVE) and a handful of local nonprofit groups and organizations.
You can upgrade your ticket to the VIP Experience and attend the 4th annual VIP Party at Carlson Vineyards. Enjoy the company of wine aficionados and your cycling friends, while taking in stunning views of the Grand Mesa, and Mt. Garfield. The evening will feature locally sourced and prepared hors-d'oeuvres, two glasses of wine, vineyard tours, and a private packet pickup.
The Grand Valley is accessible by land or air. From the Denver/Front Range area allow for a four hour scenic drive along I-70. Air travel will be to Grand Junction Regional Airport.
There are many places to stay at country inn's, motels, and campgrounds, but you better make your reservation soon!
