Matthew 7:12
“So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.”
At the time of Jesus there were so many rules and laws that were religiously burdening down the people trying to follow God. There are many different religions now in the world and some of them still have a lot of rules and laws to follow. Naturally that can be overwhelming and was for the followers of Jesus.
Now in our current time of so many distractions of the world combined with the pressures of life there likely is even more overwhelm in peoples life now than in the past. Thus, as you deepen and strengthen your walk with the Lord try to picture yourself being in the other persons shoes as you interact, help, and serve them. See the undeveloped good in them even if the initial thoughts you would have in the past was judgement. Look at them with the eyes of Love as God would do. Show greater warmth and grace toward them if they have fallen off track.
All of these things, knowing what you know now, you would want done to you if you found yourself in a different situation. Some people don’t have a lot of hope, but you do. Some people have given up on faith, but you have not. Knowing what you know now, do to others what you would have them do to you.
LORD THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME TAKE THE MOMENT IN TIME TO IMAGINE AND REMEMBER WHAT YOU HAVE DONE FOR ME, SO THAT I CAN BE ALERT AND AWARE TO DO TO OTHERS WHAT YOU HAVE DONE FOR ME TOO!
