Many years ago, my friends told me I was too picky with the guys I went out with. Ten minutes on a date for me was enough to know whether I was the least bit interested in pursuing a relationship. Many times I would try to “fix” my date up with someone I thought suitable. I met wonderful people and matched others up. Everyone I went out with looked perfect on “paper,” but they were not the “right” ones.
That was until I met my Lee Rome.
On paper, he was not perfect. He was older, divorced, had a son, and vowed he would never marry again.
Most girls would have passed. But that did not stop me. He was exciting, intriguing, and knocked my sox off! Please take a look at my
So thankful that I did not settle!

And what about Real Estate
We can relate this same story to buying a house. My husband was not interested in “owing” anyone or being tied to a mortgage. We discussed a budget, and he dared me to find a home in a price range that he would consider. For years I looked with and without the benefit of an agent. I took him to see only a few. Each time he found something to object to.
And then I found a For Sale By Owner a few doors from our dear friends. When I went to look, I was in love with the house, and he could find nothing to object to. That was forty-five years ago. And I have no plans of moving.
Why?
Because I did not settle!
Note:
This post was inspired by Hannah Williams, who wrote, " Buying a home is a marriage in your future. You do not get married to someone because you are settling; you wait for the right person - It is the same as a house. It is a home and waiting for you - You will know you will get that loving feeling.''
And another comment from Kathy Streib "You're investing a lot of money just to settle."
