Wordless Wednesday - Going For A Drive In the Country with a Mini
Going for a drive in the country is quite relaxing as you see nature. It is even more relaxing if you do it with a horse.
Horses come in many different sizes and colors. Each of the different types of horses are suited for different jobs. Here we have my granddaughter going for a drive with a miniature horse.
Miniature horses are not "baby" horses or ponies. They are actual horses that only grow to a maximum height of 36". They also come in different colors. Since they are too small to ride, they are well suited for driving.
Driving a horse simply means that a horse is hitched up to a wagon or a cart and will pull it around. Draft horses can also be used for driving, as well as helping farmers by pulling farm implements. The Amish are the only ones these days that have the horses help with farming the land.
Miniature horses are also used as service animals. That's right! They have little boots put on their hooves, so as not to harm floors indoors, and they are allowed, as service dogs, to enter any premises, except for an airplane. That is only because the minis take up too much room on a plane.
If you ever have a chance to go for a drive (and I don't mean in a vehicle) I suggest trying it. It is so much fun and you get to see more of nature and the countryside this way than you would in any vehicle. Plus, it is very relaxing.
