Woody the Woodpecker Visits on National Go Birding Day 2021

Hi Debb and Bernie,  Thank you for sharing your visit from Woody Woodpecker.  I could hear one today, but could not find him.  All I saw was a couple of robins.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Very fun video and catch Debb and Bernie!  We have a very busy woodpecker (not a red headed one) that makes a lot of noise from time to time!  Busy little guy!!

That is tremendous video footage that Bernie captured!  Such a great-looking bird!

Bernie did a great job with that video!  I have one I'm trying to get to stop pecking at the screen covering the entrance to my soffit. At least he isn't pecking on the house. 

Hi Debb... where did you get that USSR stamp? It must be a collectors item by now! At 3 kopeks it was much cheaper than our stamps even in 1979.

What a great video Bernie got of the woodpecker.  We had them when we lived in another home on the hill in Carpinteria.  We have not see them here...plenty in Napa. A

I love it Debb and Bernie!!!   I've tried so many times but I'm too short to catch them high up in the trees and they move too fast for me!!!   They are always fascinating. 

I have an old satellite dish on my roof at the very peak. I have a woodpecker that goes up there and starts pounding on it once or twice a week. You can hear it blocks away Debb and Bernie 🙃

Debb, that is a cute bird, and they do move awfully fast, especially trying to get a video.

Hello Debb and Bernie - I wish I could tell woodpeckers apart! And just as everyone else says, they move waaaay too fast for me to capture a good photo. And as much as I enjoyed the video, I found your choice of audio fun - so highly dramatic, perfect match to the little guy dashing around. Lauren

There is an expression in Maine about a cut over woodlot... that was hammered and clear cut way to hard. "A woodpeck would have to pack a lunch to fly across that woodlot". Love the video!

Woodpeckers can be so beautiful in the natural habitat, really special stuff
