High Country tours is a great place close to Denver that is great for snowmobiling. The tour is at least three hours and you'll start out at 10,000 feet of altitude from their Birdpost Outpost, which is about 16 miles away from Copper Mountain Resort. The tour tour will take you up to Prospect Mountain (up to 12,600 feet!) to attack the trails and take in the majestic scenery. If the weather is cooperating, you'll be afforded the chance to see views of Leadville Historic Mining District, the Continental Divide, three of the tallest mountains in the RocKies and much more.
there is also tubing that they will take you up to a high area to give you a break from the snowmobiles and the kids will love it. After that there is a race track also to do some racing with others in your group. We had about 12 sleds in our tour. For the kids that are under 14, they have a small track and small snowmobiles to give them the thrill of driving there on for about 20 minutes before they have to get on with the adults again. Back on the trail will take you up to a cabin where you can have some hot chocolate to enjoy and let some great pictures with the Rockies as a back round view of you and the family. The guide was great at instruction you first about the sleds for those that never drove one before. The sleds have hand warmers and seat warmers also not like what I grew up with in the 60's and 70's.
The nice thing about this place, they supply you with snowmobile suits, and helmets, you only need to bring googles and gloves. No need for hand warmers at all. Come on out and do something you never may have done before.
