I am not an IT specialist or computer nerd. If you have seen this on AR please let me know so that I can take this blog down.
In the past 4 months, I have been looking at my Google Analytics and noticing that several of my webs have slowly flatlined due to a new algorithm that Google is using to rate all webs.
Their idea is (to the best of my understanding) that what mobile phones and gadgets pick up from the internet the easiest and fastest, with the clearest formatting, is now the new standard for measuring your analytics!
I am concerned that this will affect ranking in general and SERPs. Unless I have this wrong, cell phones now are the most used electronic devices searching the internet and how your web is formatted, how quickly images and content downloads, how clear your forms and other information is read, the higher the value of your web.
This new algorithm does not necessarily measure the quality of your content though. I don't see how.
Are we dumbing down our video feeds, images, and descriptions in order to get brownie points when a smart phone can best download that information on its 3 x6 inch screen??
Anyone out there who knows what is going on, please explain this.
I am not looking forward to redesigning my webs in order to be found instantaneously and downloaded quickly on a cell phone.
