Sometimes we look at a house but what we really want to do is cross the street, knock on the door, and ask the neighbor (of the house that is very much not for sale, unfortunately) for a tour. That wouldn't be strange at all, right?
True story - that happens to me quite often. Just recently my buyers and I were house hunting around Lake Linganore in New Market, MD. My clients would love to call this area home and settle in for life at the lake. The amenities the Lake Linganore community has to offer are many: beaches, hiking trails, picnics, farmer's markets, movie nights, playgrounds, pools, ballparks... it's almost like a year-round vacation spot. Even the drive to I-70 to commute to work is a scenic one.
The good news is that there's always Real Estate for sale. The not-so-good news is that lots of buyers are competing for it. One of the homes we toured happened to have an open house and a line out the door. The house had an interesting lay-out and amazing upgrades, but what really caught our attention was the house across the street!
This custom home is not the vintage charmer that usually catches my eye, but it is - no doubt - the star of this Lake Linganore neighborhood, and probably just as stunning on the inside than it is on the outside. That porch alone has me dreaming of warm summer nights and sipping red wine (the Linganore Winecellars are nearby) while counting the stars above.
♥ It's always been the vintage, the old house charm and the original details that I adore the most, that draw me in, make my [REALTOR®] heart flutter, and prompt me to pause to listen and retell their stories. I specialize in finding and marketing charming homes that are unique and rich in character, or history, or both. I believe in preservation, second chances, saving the pink bathrooms, and front porch living. In this series I highlight charming homes that I am either listing to find just the right buyer for, or admiring with my special clients, or that have simply caught my eye while walking or running the streets, rolling trails, and [historic] subdivisions of Maryland and beyond. Adore charming homes as much as I do? Then I'd love it if you'd follow me on Instagram @onceuponahaus is where I grow my curated collection. ♥
