New Construction Spending For March 2021

On May 3, 2021, the U.S. Census Bureau reported nationwide construction spending up 0.2% to $1,513.1 billion in March of 2020 from $1,509.9 billion February of 2021, but rose 5.3% from $1,436.7 billion in March of 2020.

Nationwide private construction higher 0.7% to $1,169.2 billion in March of 2021 from $1,160.9 billion in February of 2021.

Residential construction increased 1.7% of $725.2 billion in March of 2021 from $713.1 billion February of 2021.

Non residential construction declined 0.9% to $444.0 billion in March of 2021 from $447.8 billion in February of 2021.

The public construction dropped 1.5% to $343.9 billion in March of 2021 from $349.0 billion in February of 2021.

The educational construction fell 2.0% to $85.3 billion in March of 2021 from $87.1 billion in February of 2021.

The highway construction down 2.0% to $98.8 billion in March of 2021 from $101.1 billion in February of 2021.
