Now, That Is Some Title. . .

With the passing of Prince Philip in April, I was thinking about titles and the many ways they changed in the course of a lifetime.  He was known, of course, as a man who had many titles.

Back firmly on this side of the pond and in my not-so-royal world, evidence of titles play a role in everyday life.  Most of us carry or have carried multiple titles.  Other duties as assigned may be a description of tasks that are given not only in the course of a job but can and do occur at any given moment.

Many descriptions aren’t clearly defined.  Flexibility is important as is adaptability among an always increasing list. On-the-job training and continuing education act as markers where schooling is ongoing.  And no job summary can ever be sufficient to tell the role mothers and mother-figures play in our lives.  To mothers everywhere Happy Mother’s Day.  Who would ever think that one might be able to link Prince Philip to mothers? Who, indeed.

I never doubt your ability to link one thing to another, even when the link doesn't seem possible because you are a smart man!

It seems many of our peers have titles, the CEOs of teams of one, brokerages where EVERY agent is a Senior VP, etc.  All part of the efforts to have the consumer believe THAT agent is the one out of 6000 that they should hire :)

Good morning,

Since we have one of Prince Philip's grandchildren living in Santa Barbara, we are made aware via some form of news about the royals and their activiites...and their babies, and their mothers...and his funeral...and Oprah's interviews...

But back to mothers....and that is the real title, without mothers we would not exist!  A

Ron and Alexandra Seigel - after I scheduled this post, I had many thought.  Choosing the right title for a post is one of them.  So are connections.

Thanks Michael! Great job linking the two. Mothers and Realtors carry the most titles and some of the same. I'm thankful to have both titles. Have a great Sunday!

Good Sunday morning, Michael. One of the benefits of retirement is that I no longer need titles or designations.

Have a great day and an outstanding week.

Morning Michael.

While I have been known by many names, some of which I cannot repeat.  However, my favorite one is "dad".

James Dray - while I don't qualify for the Dad title, I have earned some other titles in life which as you say can't be repeated.  Obviously, a few of those(or more) may not have been earned but given nonetheless.

Michael Jacobs - Choosing the right Title makes things perfectly clear... at least that is true for me. When I was raised titles were important and were used out of respect. You didn't have to be a King, Queen, Prince, or anyone of high importance. Things have sure changed a lot. In some cases, I prefer respect over casual first name basis. For business, I'm perfectly fine with first name. For me, respect never goes out of style. Thanks, for the Mother's Day wishes!

Now, THAT is impressive, Michael! I don't know how you do it but, you managed to somehow tie the passing of Prince Philip to mothers!

I had such a delightful time with my boys on Mother's Day that I neglected social media for the entire day! I was here for about an hour, scouring the listings, sales, etc. to support those members and then I was off to fish with hubby. It was a glorious Carolina Mother's Day!
