When Your Blogging Tank Registers Empty
It happens...to all of us...well many of us. If you’ve been blogging for any amount of time...heck even if you’ve just started...there comes a time when your blogging tank registers empty...nada, nyet, nichts.
For many years, I have tried posting every day. I do this not for business (I’m retired) but for me. Blogging keeps my dendrites going and I know (fear) that one day when I decide that I’ll pass blogging that day, it will be harder for me to get back into the blogging habit.
This works for me and it may not be what works for you. There is no right or wrong to this.
So what can you do if you cannot think of anything to blog about?
Something I do is hop into my way-back machine and get an idea from a previous post. I’m not talking about copying and pasting it into a new post, as if you were reblogging your own post.
No...get your topic/idea from a previous post, grab some phrases even, and put today’s spin on it.
You may ask “Won’t others remember what you wrote?”
Seriously? Can you remember what you wrote 4 years ago? I have gone back to some of my older posts and didn’t remember writing them!
So, if you’re drawing a blank the next time you sit down to write a post, consider traveling back in time to some of your older posts.
