There is this little area of road near the Mississippi River just south of La Crescent in Southeast Minnesota that always captures my eye. If I had to describe peace, then this would be one of the first places I would think of. We drive though it every time I travel to Wisconsin to visit the in-laws. On one side is this old looking train bridge that sits just above a small tributary stream. On the other side is a water-marsh area that is always a nice bright green. Finally, after two years, I stopped to take some photos. Enjoy!
What a very special place Jennifer. I love the Minnesota rural areas. So serene and uplifting. And always beautiful. I envy you!
Thanks Dana, Midwest rural areas in general are very beautiful. Having grown up surrounded by corn fields in southern Indiana, I have a soft spot for rural life.
I have a few of those places. They lift me up. One is someplace that isn't easy to visit... Moab, UT.
Lane - one of my favorite places on earth is the southern island of New Zealand. I have only been there once, and would love to go back someday. It is probably one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.
That's beautiful. I really enjoy looking at the pictures everybody takes...I'm getting a different view of the world.
Jennifer - isn't it amazing how many things we don't get around to photographing? I'm learning to go around the block and stop when I pass something interesting.
Ok, it wouldn't take too much arm twisting to get me to NZ... or Australia. Especially if I could take a Jeep.
Jennifer, Very beautiful. I felt peaceful watching the slideshow. Thanks, I enjoyed the post.
Jennifer, Looks like a beautiful place. Nice and tranquil, and a place to contemplat life. Great photos.
Jennifer,
