A new favorite paint color

Home Stager with Lantern Lane Designs

For someone who absolutely hates picking paint colors for her own home, I sure do write alot of posts about paint colors.

I am also not a huge fan of writing blog posts. Shh, don't tell anyone that.  But I do love sharing decorating tips and ideas so I continue blogging.

As you can tell, most of my posts are quick and to the point.

Last year my parents sold my childhood home and moved into a beautiful new condo. I convinced my beige loving mom to go white in her condo.

And I knew she needed a creamy white. Not too creamy like Dover White but a white with a touch of cream in it.

So what does a good daughter do?? She gets on Pinterest and finds that white paint color that most people are talking about.

And you guessed it, we went with Alabaster by Sherwin Williams.

And her condo is painted Alabaster by Sherwin Williams from top to bottom and everything in between.

And I mean everything.

My mom is still adjusting to the all white condo but look how dang pretty it is.

I am a huge fan of painting your walls a neutral (ideally white) paint color and letting your decor be the star of the show.  And when you are sick of that said decor, you just replace it with whatever you want.  And you never have to worry about painting your walls again to match the new decor trend you are on.

If the all white look isn’t for you, that’s fine too. Alabaster can be friends with trim and cabinetry only.

Alabaster really is a pretty paint color and one that is very popular among designers and bloggers.

Picking the perfect white paint color is so hard so when you know a paint color has a cult following then you know you might have a good one on your hands.

PS...I picked up my love of decorating from my mom.  The apple does not fall far from the tree!

Off white house paint is making a comeback after years of beige and gray (the new/old beige). What goes around, comes back around.

I don't know. Everytime I show a white-ish house the buyers are never thrilled. I remember in the 80's that was 'it'. You didn't have off-white walls you weren't going to sell.
