Rio Lomas is a charming residential community located on the outskirts of Bullhead City, Arizona, near the Fort Mohave boundary. The community is bordered to the north by the Mohave Crossroads Shopping Center and to the south by the Clearwater Hills community. The neighborhood is made up of a number of residential complexes and subdivisions built to meet the ever-increasing need for housing in the latter half of the twentieth century. The neighborhood is conveniently positioned at the northern edge of Fort Mohave and the southern outskirts of Bullhead City. Residents have easy access to a neighboring shopping mall, as well as public parks, schools, and the numerous golf clubs to the south.


The community's home construction dates from the 1980s to the 1990s, with significant design differences between the two decades. The usual low-cost housing style in the region during the 1980s can still be found in homes built in the 1980s. Houses had a longitudinal shape with open spaces on both sides of the home lot during the time. One side is an open patio, while the other is a large carport that can accommodate many automobiles or a boat. Conventional suburban home designs with attached front-facing garages and traditional craftsman-style architecture were popular in the 1990s. The home layouts in the area are a little larger than in other parts of the city. Three or four-bedroom homes with 1,400 to 2,000 square feet of the living area are the most common. Property values are similar to the city's median figure, with some recent custom buildings costing between $250,000 and $350,000 to replace older homes in the region.
