Points. Pointlessness. And. . .

Points.  Pointlessness.

And Pondering

Points Of View.

When it comes to ActiveRain, a discussion of points can add to the continuing dialogue of this platform. Although that discussion doesn’t seem to be as rampant as I remember in the beginning days of my AR journey, it still exists. After all, where are we and what are some of the roots of this real estate social media behemoth as it Zooms along into the future, right?

From time to time, I still see talk of reciprocation here too as it can occasionally fuel the fire of free-thinking. I, and many others before and after me, have discussed each in various ways while the point clicker seems to increase with each post and comment.  I guess they are related.  It seems everything is a bit interconnected even when those things may be the definition of  disjointed.

All this talk of point-gathering has me thinking of my very first official AR MeetUp.  Held way back in 2015, there were definitely points involved but the primary point made was another message. Does it register with you?

And beyond the growing number, isn’t there much to be learned beyond the point?   At least, it seems that way to me.

Even though I only read about that meet up of yours in 2015, I still remember your first plot twist of Dick Greenberg showing up.  I miss interacting with him on this platform.  One of the greats, if you ask me.

On the subject of points, I have to say I've been literally taking the zero a lot of times.  The pursuit of points, in my opinion, gets some good habits going with respect to writing and interacting here.  Beyond a point, they are, in fact, pointless.  It becomes entirely clear who is interacting and participating because they enjoy the interaction and find it beneficial, and those that solely see the benefit as points.

Chris Ann Cleland - although I occassionally catch up with Dick Greenberg by email, I do miss him here.  In addition to his insightful market reports, his once-in-a-while GrabBag posts are sorely lacking in my blog roll.

Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS  - I don't believe there is a box that can hold you.

Morning Michael

I was grandfathered in about the points.  Never paid anything when  I started. or at least that's what I remember. Now where was I going with this, not  a clue

I don't even notice points anymore. I remember how driven I was to accumulate them at one time. They certainly did motivate me to blog, and that is a good thing.

The only time points mattered to me was way back when. Getting a free membership was a big goal of mine. Now, I am often surprised when I see a new milestone reached. Ha. I do remember the meetup in 2015 quite well. Wish we could have joined you all.

Hi Michael Jacobs, I remember your 2015 meetup, hard to believe it was six years ago. So much has happened since then. I was never about the points, the friendships we built and opportunities to learn make ActiveRain a special place.

Anna Banana Kruchten CRS, CRB, Phoenix Broker - maybe for some the Tuesday AR Zoom Meetings are the latest version of a MeetUp.

Beth Atalay - a discussion of points when it comes to ActiveRain seems to need to be a part of the conversation of this platform.  Obviously, just a part.
