Yes, I've been in the affordable housing arena for over 3 decades and have worked with thousands of seniors and entry level homeowners that are looking for lower cost living solutions. One of those is to assist people who have the appropriate size lots to put an Accessory Dwelling Unit on their property.
But just for the record what you see in this link is not what I stand for in any way, shape or form. This is pushing the envelope beyond the pale and is the beginning of the end for our neighborhoods and our quality of life.
I do believe that property/homeowners have the right to create an additional living space on the earth they own beneath their feet. There has been a paradigm shift in the way we choose to live out our lives. Many Baby Boomers now wish to age in place on the property they raised their children on. Or they may need to provide a living space for a family member. Or they may just want to create an additional revenue stream to enhance their income.
All of these options are legitimate and every property/homeowner should have the right to do this. However, what you see in the video takes it to a whole new level. But even more disturbing, it takes our rights as homeowners and citizens in our own community away and gives it to the State bureaucrats, hedge funders and high density developers.
We must maintain the integrity of our neighborhoods and communities. If we don't wake up and smell the roses on this you will see your neighborhoods change dramatically in the not to distant future. Please do not allow this to happen in your neighborhood. I encourage you to share this link with everyone you know anywhere in America before it's too late. California is just the tip of the iceberg. As we all know most trends start on the West Coast and work their way across the Country.
