It's true! I returned to New Zealand in 2016 for good. I have literally not looked back. My timing was impeccable for once. I had a couple of years to get back on the ground (I'm a dual USA/NZ citizen) and restart my business, relearning the ropes and reacquainting with my old haunts and friends. The transition for anyone changing cities, countries, markets, and cultures is...well...always interesting. Besides our new regulatory banking framework, building thousands of houses to keep up with the demand and a market going bonkers (COVID-19 has definitely brought more Kiwis home), I think it's safe to say this was a good move.
EXPATS RETURNING TO NEW ZEALAND
If you happen to know any New Zealand residents or citizens making the transition back home, I'd be pleased to help point the way. In fact, my Expat Advice First service is designed to assist folks making their move, booking their (very expensive) flights and their quarantine facility. Of course, this year that means only Residents and Citizens of New Zealand and their families are welcome. We are pretty inundated managing the flow of returnees and thankfully, it's going well.
Thanks for all the wonderful wishes on my journey. And hope to see more of you as guests to our lucky country very soon!
