Sidney Liebowitz was born in New York City, New York back in 1935 to Max and Helen. He attended Thomas Jefferson High School. In the late 1950’s he was drafted into the United States Army serving as the official vocal soloist with The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own” in Washington, D.C.
After being discharged, he had several hit records in the late 50’s and early 60’s. He was a guest on shows as The Danny Kaye Show, The Judy Garland Show, The Flip Wilson Show along with several more. He was a regular on The Carol Burnet Show from 1967-78. He appeared in the Broadway musical Golden Rainbow. He starred in the 1972 film Stand Up and Be Counted, The Blues Brothers and so on.
