Spring cleaning allows you to give your home some TLC by tending to the dirt that has accumulated over time. So throw on some of your favorite tunes, grab your soap and cleaning tools, and begin cleaning room by room.
Here are 5 tips you can use to help you leave your home feeling fresh and clean this spring.
Make a Plan. What areas in your home get the least amount of attention? Wherever that is, that will be a great place to start. Forming a list of things you need to do is a great way to help keep you focused and organized.
Organize. Staying organized can help you feel less stressed. As you filter through your closets, be sure to throw away or donate old clothes or furniture that you no longer want.
Clean Green. Before you begin to clean your home, it’s important that you take the necessary steps to stay safe during the process. As you look over your cleaning supplies, be sure to read over labels as some cleaning products can release unhealthy fumes and chemicals.
Handy Dandy Dusting. The best rule when it comes to dusting is to go top to bottom. When you dust from the ceiling down, this forces debris to fall on the ground and you can vacuum afterward. A few key areas to dust are your ceiling fan, light fixtures, and vents.
Common Rooms and Floors. This includes the kitchen and bathrooms. Kitchens are often known as the heart of a home. It’s where we cook, eat, and sometimes just hang out. Over time, dirt can build up and kitchens can begin to become dirty and cluttered. For the bathroom, though this may not be the most appealing room to clean, it has to be done. It requires several different cleaning steps like changing the curtains and liner regularly, go through your drawers or medicine cabinets and throw away any expired items and use newspaper and window cleaner to clean the mirrors.
