July 4th events in Cumming, GA

Having recently moved from Sandy Springs, GA to Cumming, GA I am excited to share with readers the various activities surrounding the July 4th weekend in this wonderful community near Lake Lanier and the North Georgia Mountains.  

Here's what's in store this July 4 in Cumming:

When: 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 3

From the City of Cumming: The Thomas - Mashburn Steam Engine Parade is an annual July 4th tradition in the City of Cumming. Thousands of people line the streets to celebrate Independence Day. With a wide variety of floats you'll see local businesses, sports teams, dance academies, antique cars, tractors, steam engines and much more! The parade route travels south on Tribble Gap Road, starting at Forsyth Central High School and ending at the Cumming Fairgrounds.

Parade starts at 10 a.m. (arrive early for best viewing)

Parade Information

Cumming Fairgrounds will host a fun-filled evening from 4 to 10 p.m., with a spectacular fireworks display to begin at 9:30 p.m. The celebration includes music, alcohol, food, games, vendors, and various contests throughout the day. Free admission and parking. No outside food or drinks allowed.

In Buford at Lake Lanier, Margaritaville at Lanier Islands will host a 4th of July Celebration with The Jonathan Ingram Band at LandShark Landing at 8 p.m. on July 3, with fireworks at 10 p.m. The Pick Up Line Band will perform at 8 p.m. on July 4, with fireworks at 10 p.m.

Park admission is $15 per person.
