I don’t think you can ever have too many Eric Clapton songs in your Soundtrack. Clapton who is known for his guitar work has always professed to be a blues guitarist, but his greatest success has always been in the Rock & Roll genre.
In 1992 after performing live for a new series called MTV Unplugged, Clapton recorded his album Unplugged which featured a lot of his songs in acoustic version.
One of my favorites is today’s song Tears in Heaven. "Tears in Heaven" is an acoustic ballad about the pain Clapton felt following the death of his four-year-old son, Conor. Conor, who fell from a window of the 53rd-floor New York apartment of a friend.
It is a melancholy song but also one of Clapton's most successful, reaching #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in the U.S. The song also spent three weeks at #1 on the American adult contemporary chart in 1992.
Tears in Heaven is sad, but at the same time hopeful that after passing through this world we will all be together again in the afterlife.
