Is Every Thing, Negotionable In Life?

Am I making, anyone hungry?  How do you like your steak cooked?  Grilled? Steamed, deep fried, Oven baked, charcoal cooked, gas cooked? Personally, I like my steak cooked,  on my Traeger wood pellet grill, with onions and garlic and lots of sesame seed oil, with hot peppers.  I like my steak going in hot and I like my steak, going out.....................  Well, you get the picture.  Lol. 😅

I have had the opportunity and privilege to live all over the world as well as travel all over the world and here is what,  I can say, from my experience.  Most things are negotionable in life, if you just ask? Prices are negotionalble if,  you are nice about it and ask for the item.  The secret is to not be offended or feel rejected if,  you are denied.  Life is a jouney.  Life is fun. Life is one challenge,  after another.  Accomplishments and defeat are both part of growing.  Learn to bargain. Learn to negotiate for what you are wanting, in life.

So, I was recently asked to see,  if I see had negotion skills.  I was challenged to see if I could still negotiate or bargain,  since I have lived in South Korea and Indonesia and the island of Guam.  I was challenged to go grocery shopping to see if, it was even still possible to negotiate for items, that I wanted.  You be the judge if I accomplished my task or not.

It can be done and it is done if you know how to negotiate. Just be nice and be professional about it.  Yes, I even get people who want to negotiate with me and my small business and I love it, when I hear this and I love it when others want to negotiate,  for my services. I am learning to not turn people down, but I simply ask people what he or she can afford or how much does he or she want to spend.  I admire others who at least ask and who are kind enough to ask,  for what he or she wants in life.  Be it, a piece of meat or a car or even a home.  If people knew the art of negotiation,    I usually work with him or her if,  the person is nice and professional to me and with me on pricing.  Offer folks what he or she can afford or take certain things off the list of what you are offering and be creative. My point is this. It can be done.  So, who does it?  So, why not negotiate if you have the opportunity to ask.  Ask and you might receive.  Do not ask and you may not receive.

Living in the orient, required us to bargain or negotiate for everything and when we did not do this, we were not respected in Indonesia and laughed at, when I grew up there in the 70's.  They were good times and life was so simple and I learned so much,  growing up in Indonesia.  My journey as a child has helped me so many times as an adult.  I went shopping tonight and I decided to try bargaining and negotiating for a lot of meat.  Could it be done?  Did I do it?  Absolutely.  It can be done and it will be done if you just ask and you are nice about it.  You just have to find the right person to talk to and the right person, who makes decisions.  What is the worst they can do to you if you just ask for better pricing?  Can they say no to you?  Smiles.  Of course, people can say no if they like.

What I have learned about negotiating and bargaining for an item or items is to be, ever so kind and ever so sweet.  Remember if you never ask, you will never receive.  Be positive and you just might get what you want if you know how to bargain or negotiate for some thing in life.  It might be a car or meat or fruit.  It can or could be anything.  Just focus on what you want and be willing to be positive and be willing to be rejected and not get your feelings hurt.  I love it, when people tell me some thing is not possible.  All things are possible if you only will believe in yourself and your ability and you are positive.  If you are ever rejected in anything, do not take it personal but get right back up and do it again.  You will not be rejected forever.  You will not be turned down on every ocasion.  Believe in yourself.  Believe you can do it.  Have faith and do not stop.

Hi David- I love your post. Negotiating is a skill and your key point about approaching it with the spirit of kindness is key, that and being willing to accept a "no" with kindness as well.
